2016 will mark the 28th Anniversary of the Charlotte South Park Turkey Trot, one of Charlotte's longest-running events, and one of the largest events in North Carolina. The race has become an Annual Thanksgiving Day Tradition for over 10,000+ participants, representing families and friends across generations. It’s a happy and healthy way to start off one of the best days of the year!

NO ONLINE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 11/20. But you can register "In person" at ("Race Headquarters Tent " at Southpark Mall in front of Dicks Parking Lot ) Tues, 1pm- 7pm and Wed, 11am - 6 pm.

A separate entry form is required for each person entering the Charlotte Turkey Trot. All fees are non-refundable. Make checks payable to RMSSports. T-Shirts are ONLY guaranteed to preregistered (by 11/18) participants of the 8K, 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run, and then on a first-come, first-serve basis until quantities are gone.

Tot Trot participants will receive a medal. & New this year Youth size Tshirts!

Registered participants can make changes to their registration up until November 19th. After that changes can be made at packet pickup on Tuesday, November 22nd or Wednesday, November 23rd, but there will be a $10 fee. There will be no changes allowed on race day.


For the second year in a row, the Charlotte South Park Turkey Trot is pleased to offer participants the option of getting a regular 100% Cotton long-sleeve T-shirt, OR (for an additional $15) a high quality technical long-sleeve T-shirt (a $30 value).

TOT TROT: registration is $10.00 until 11/18 and $12.00 after that. New this year all children receive youth size tshirts and finishers medals. Children ages walking through 6 years old will run a children’s marathon distance of 26.2 yards beginning at 10 a.m. Children will compete within their own age divisions.8

Raceday- Packet Pick-up only at Southpark Mall in Front of Dicks Sporting Goods and Symphony Park in a big Tent also Post Race Festivities are located here in Symphony park, just off Barkley Downs.

A portion of race proceeds from the Charlotte Turkey Trot goes to, Church Charities, Church Youth Ministry., Local Schools for the Youth, Homeless Shelter and Boy Scouts and other Local charities.

Course Description and Runner Support
Our course starts next to Southpark Mall and finishes in the SouthPark Mall in front of Dicks and beside the Symphony park. Participants will enjoy a safe and scenic run through South Charlotte. For a detailed course map, please visit our website. Water stops will be positioned on the course. Portable restrooms will be stationed at the Start/Finish line area and at the midway point of the 8K.


Chronotrack timing will be used for the 8K & 5K events. Chronotrack uses the most advanced technology using timing chips (B-tags) on the bib#, allowing for fast and accurate timing.


Our official race photographer is Carolina Snapshot. Pictures will be available at within 4 days of the event.RUNNER AWARDS

8K awards ceremony will be held for the top 3 Male and Female Overall winners and the top Male and Female Masters winners. Age group awards will also be given in the 8K. There will be no duplication of awards.

Finisher's Medals will be given to all Finishers!


All participants can participate in the costume contest. We will have judges checking out all costumes during the event. Please come and Have a Great Time and wear an Awesome Costume!
